Summer Shopping for Staycations and Back-to-School

Whether you're 'Staycationing' or Vacationing, off-price retailers T.J. Maxx and Marshalls have something for everyone on any budget!

When I went today I was amazed at the deals! You could easily see the MSRP of items and how much they were discounting for you. And when I walked by a shirt that I bought at American Eagle ... and saw it 1/2 off at Marshalls ... I was sold! They had awesome brands for adults and kids in every section, like Ed Hardy and Calvin Klein! $60 outfits being sold for $16! It was crazy.

So I was already sold on the idea of shopping for clothes, but did you know T.J. Maxx and Marshalls offer everything you would need to make the most out of Summer entertaining too? Whether backyard BBQ or hanging out with the kids, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls have a great selection of top brand summer gear at amazingly low prices. Everything from grill accessories, gourmet bbq sauces and drink mixes to fun glass and serving-ware. Now I know where to go when I plan my son's birthday BBQ!

Plus, now is also the time that lots of parents are going back-to-school shopping - or if you are a mom like me, you are taking advantage of back-to-school sales for your toddlers! I really wish I had my camera with me so I could have shown you some of the items I saw! I saw bathing suits for summer splashing, Maxi Dresses that would be equally perfect walking on the beach or chasing a toddler down the beach, flirty sun dresses and chic sunglasses.

What did I end up getting? Well, unfortunately it wasn't exciting. I bought some clothes and underwear for the boys. I never can get used to buying things for myself - they come first! But I love what I got! At T.J. Maxx I took advantage of the deals to get them some underwear (normally $8-9 dollars, bought for $5. One of the packages was underwear I had bought at Osh Kosh before - for an extra $3!) I also bought the boys short sleeve Ed Hurley shirts, matching. Normally these shirts are $20, and I got them for $6 each. Then I bought my oldest some cotton, drawstring shorts. So for 5 items, I spent $26.

At Marshalls I bought 2 more packs of underwear. Once again, we got the same great deals on the packs. I saw some super cute Julius Monkey underwear - unfortunately too big for my boys. And I also bought two cute layered tees ... matching of course!

Overall, I am thrilled by the stores. Locally, I think I prefer the T.J. Maxx, even though the deals were the same. Over all it was a lot more organized and easier to find things!

Has anyone else gone shopping at T.J. Maxx or Marshalls for back-to-school or summer? What great deals have you found?
