At first I thought, "AUGH! SMALL PARTS!" The wooden school bus is a good size, but inside you also have two people, 3 school chairs, 2 little books, a driver's seat and a chalkboard. Aftter a week of playing all the parts are accounted for - except the small school books. So just be prepared that some small parts seem to disappear fast!
Since it is a wooden toy with no bells, whistles or horns I wondered how long it would keep my kids' attention. It is made for 3 years and up. Surprisingly, both boys LOVE it. It's not intended for my 19 month old, though, so we'll skim over that part. But my 3 year old is the perfect age for it and he will sit, play and make the figures talk and learn. It's funny to hear them tell each other to "Behave" and "Be nice". But he loves his school bus!
The parts are withstanding the boys' rough behavior. Even though they are colored pieces, it's not typical paint - so nothing is wearing off or chipping! And the people have posable legs so they can sit or stand on those gigantic feet of theirs.
The school bus opens and it took quite a lot of strength for me to open it the first time. But now it's pretty simple. It rolls on it's wheels nice and smooth. And the little door on the bus opens and closes.
