I don't think I would normally consider taking BOTH boys to P.F. Changs nowadays, but knowing that they had a children's menu definitely piqued my interest and appetite! I decided to take a peek online to double-check which restaurant was closest to me using their restaurant locator, then I went on to the menu area to see what options my husband, the kids and I would be choosing from.
The online menu area is really cool, since you can download the whole menu, see kids options, look at Changs for Two, review Gluten-Free options and even the wine & cocktail list. For the kids I saw chicken, lo mein (egg noodles with chicken), chicken fried rice and baby Buddha's feast (snap peas, carrots and broccoli served steamed or stir-fried). Already I was thinking I would choose Baby Buddha's feast and the lo mein for the boys. Each could get 1/2 and 1/2. And thankfully, their menu is delicious, yet there are many healthy choices that my husband and I could choose from!
So we went to eat there last Saturday around 1pm. It was after the boys gymnastics class ... plus we ran some errands - so the boys had NO NAPS. OMGoodness! Was our lunch going to be a disaster? I did make some last minute choices, like getting both kids the chicken - which they LOVED. My husband ordered Won Ton soup, which comes out in a huge bowl. It's a massive amount. My oldest son (3 yo) loved it! He was sharing with me and had TWO BOWLFULS! This is saying a lot, since he is a very picky eater. And they both loved their Kid's Chicken.
My husband had the Ginger Chicken with Broccoli - and he devoured the whole thing. I decided on the Ground Chicken and Eggplant. We both had a choice of white or brown rice, and chose brown. I ate almost 1/2 of what they served me. The whole thing was just delicious, but having already noshed on soup, I couldn't have another bite. (If you are on a diet, you might want to look at the nutritional information ahead of time for calories, serving size, carbs, etc.)
I would have loved some of those famous lettuce wraps, which we did order - but it was delivered to the wrong table! So it was wiped off our check. Speaking of, that meal was around $47 dollars. Not shabby at such a posh place!
Over all, I was very happy at how well-prepared they were for my boys! They had an affordable kid's menu, which could also be colored on. My boys ate more there than most other restaurants. And they had a booster and high chair on hand. So lesson-learned, you can eat at P.F. Changs with two kids in tow and have a great meal!
