You Can Make This: CONTEST

Many of us moms want to make items for our children, but we don't know where to start. Well, check out You Can Make This. was created by a mom who wanted to provide downloadable instructions on how to make just about anything from children's boutique clothing and jewelry, to handbags, home decor and more. What makes the site unique is that these instructions are written by everyday moms who have an expertise in an area. They are written in a way that makes you feel you have a friend sitting right next to you, telling you what to do next. They all have detailed instructions and step-by-step full-color photos so even the most "craft-challenged" person can make these items for their homes and families.

When I visited You Can Make This, I was amazed by the selection! I could make items for boys, girls, babies and me. I could choose knitting, crochet, appliques, sewing projects and more. Painting, clay, toys ... you get the idea? The selection was AWESOME. But of course, mom of two boys here. So I headed straight to options for boys. What should I make? My recent experience was only creating super capes for the boys. Here I could choose from boxers, ties, hats, shorts ... so I decided on Easy Fit Pants.

Oh. My. Goodness. The e-book that was delivered was in-depth and a lot easier to read than a pattern you buy from the store. It had templates for all sizes, even dolls. And it told you how to create different length pants with them - from shorts to bermuda shorts to long pants. Plus, you can choose to create a contrasting cuff and add appliques. It was all there, leading you step by step. I decided to start making long shorts for my youngest. I had enough material to create some funky red/black shorts. I was going to add contrasting red/black cuffs. And I created back sea-life appliques to go over the red material. So, as of now my next step is to start sewing! But, so far the process is easy and straight forward and I would definitely purchase my next pattern from You Can Make This.
